It is with a heavy heart that I write this to the players of the OGT. As of 12/18/00 I am resigning my post as Director of the OGT, and leaving 3.0 for good. I sent an email today, 12/15/00 to all Captains saying so and looking for another Director. I want it up to the captains as my final act as Director as to who will take my place. I did not go into detail in the email, that is the purpose of this note to you. The following is why.
1.) Everything I do as a Christian I do by prayer. I felt the Lord leading me to go. I am not sure 100% why, but my place in this is to obey and I am.
After that can there really be other reasons? Not really, but I do leave with this;
The fighthing here has seemed to settle some. Since the TN's left us, due to the fighting mostly, I thought I saw a resurgence in this game. But, this game is all about the ladder now, not the OGT. The TS's rose and won an OGT title, the AsG's are steadily finishing all 50 but the BYG's and BD's are struggling big time to make it half way. Once again, the big ugly as I call it, the Ladder is doing it's work. Or is it the work of the players? Are we going to win at all costs? I guess so, even if it means hurting this once great game. I can't believe anyone would put themselves over this game, but if climbing the ladder is that important, I want no parts of it. Ever since the Ladder came out there's been nothing but arguing. Say what you will but its the arguing that has snuffed the life out of this game. I'd love to see 3.0 do away with the ladder, try it for one month, no ladder, you'd see team play increase, and you could have other events, tourneys etc that would do well. The ladder isnt run by one of you, its run by people who have no idea what 3.0 is all about. Baloney guys, deep 6 that thing, what have you got to lose?
I am going to start school in a month, by God's grace. My focus there is on programming and being a Systems Analyst. I love computers and want to learn all I can. I will certainly miss you all. Please ICQ or email me if you wish. I am going to play Links still when I can. My Dad plays over there I a love playing with and against him from time to time. I also have a ton of old 3.0'ers over there to see and talk to, like old times, lol, hardly.(meaning Links cant compare to the 3.0 days of old). Take care all and God Bless....Hagios
